Sunset Gloss Coating is a non-yellowing, fast-drying, water-based acrylic coating that adds a tough, flexible glossy layer of protection to inkjet prints on canvas and art papers. It can be applied with brushes, high-density foam rollers, or an HPLV paint-sprayer. Sunset Gloss Coating is ready to use right out of the can, meaning that it doesn’t have to be diluted and re-mixed for different application methods. This saves time during the critical finishing stage each print job, and helps ensure that each and every print receives the same degree of protection.

The self-leveling properties help minimize streaks and preserve the look of the surface texture of material being protected. Sunset Gloss Coating contains UV inhibitors for maximum protection against lighting-induced fading.

The glossy finish can help enhance the colors of inks printed on matte canvases and art papers.

Good Backup Topcoat
This coating has a strong odor.  It can tend to bubble & pock.  Must be careful to stir gently to mix.  Must not apply too much pressure on the roller if applying via this type of application.  The first coat takes hours to dry.  The second coat dries usually within 30 to 45 minutes.  Best temperature is in the low 70's.  I find that having a ceiling fan blowing down at full speed helps a great deal to combat the bubbles & development of pockmarks.  I use the LexJet Sunset Select Matte Canvas.  I employ an Epson Stylus Pro 9980 to create my prints.  This is not my first choice in topcoats, but one that can be substituted in a pinch ... with care.
