This is my fourth large plotter in 15 years, having started with the HP DesignJet Z3100. I moved over to the Epson platform for the next 10 years, but when I needed to buy another printer for my creative photography, I decided on the Z9. The clarity, detail, and accuracy are impressive. The only slight drawback is the fact that it has to be connected to a network if you want to print via one, or simply by moving a thumb drive to and from the computer. Otherwise it's just excellent all around.

This is my fourth 44" printer I have owned in 15 years, having started with an HP Z3100. After using Epson for my last two large plotters, I decided to try the HP Z9 and couldn't be happier. Once I got it set up on my network, it was very easy to begin printing using the HP Click software (simply drag and print). As a professional photographer using Ultra Large Format negatives and wet collodion glass plates, I am very detail oriented, and the prints produced by this printer are superb.
