LexJet Premium Solvent Backlit Gloss (8 Mil) is a strong, glossy-coated polyester film that enables you to produce great-looking, weather-resistant backlit images on solvent-ink and UV-curable printers. The base film itself is designed not to warp, even after lengthy exposure to the heat from the lightbox.
The ink-receptive gloss coating on the front can handle high ink loads for maximum color density and brilliant color reproduction in the printed images. Plus, this film has the scratch-resistance and water-resistance needed to produce graphics that can be displayed indoors or outdoors without lamination. The light-diffusing back-coat ensures even illumination from the lightbox at night as well as the ability to clearly see high-contrast images when they are front lit during the day.
LexJet Premium Solvent Backlit Gloss (8 Mil) produces optimized image quality with the low solvent and solvent inks used by many popular makes and models of printers. But it also works well with UV-curable inks, too!

Printer/Ink Compatibility | Compatible with all inkjet printers using eco-solvent, solvent and UV-curable ink. This product is NOT compatible with latex printing technology. |
Software Settings | Optimized printer settings will vary from printer manufacturers. To optimize print quality, 720 dpi will offer the best results. Recommended heater settings of 104° to 122° F (40° - 50° C) for both pre and post heaters. These recommendations have been found to be a good place to start. |
Color Matching | For best and most consistent results, a profile should be created using an external color calibrator in conjunction with your RIP and color matching software. |
Light Fastness | The fading time of inkjet ink is a direct result of the inks that you choose to use and the environment where the print is displayed. Contact the ink manufacturer for light fastness data. |
Finishing/Post Processing | Solvent inks have excellent water-resistance when used in conjunction with this film. For some applications, such as retractable banner stands, this film may not need to be laminated. If the film is laminated, the print must dry for 24 hours to ensure that the solvents are gone from the print. Insufficient dry time can cause color shift and affect the bond strength of the laminate adhesive. |
Optimal Service Environment | For printing: 50° ;-86° F, 30-70% Relative Humidity |
Handling Recommendations | Due to the absorptive nature of the coating, you should avoid touching the coated surface of the film. It is always recommended that cotton gloves be used when handling inkjet coated materials. Rolls of LexJet film are supplied with the coated side facing out. |
Ideal Storage Conditions | 50° -86° F, 30-70% R.H. (a controlled environment is recommended); stored vertically in original packaging. |
