LexJet to Enter Replacement Ink Aftermarket

Wednesday, February 8, 2006
LexJet announced today that it would begin offering an aftermarket inkjet ink solution to its approximate 5,000 customers who are currently using HP 5000/5500 inkjet printers.

“For many reasons, we have elected not to compete with OEM inks for more than ten years,” stated Camillia Mankovich, LexJet’s marketing director. “We can now confidently offer a viable alternative ink solution to our customers who are using HP 5000/5500 printing technology,” Mankovich added.

The initial shipments will consist of dye based inks made and packaged in cartridges in the USA. The inks will be available for wide scale shipment to LexJet customers commencing February 1, 2006.

“It is of the utmost importance to our customers that LexJet provide them with an ink replacement solution that is simple to implement, free from patent infringement in both the delivery device and the chemical structure of the ink, and is a cost effective product solution,” stated John Lane, LexJet’s vice president. “We have extensively tested this ink solution for months and will be able to guarantee our customers that the ink is ‘hot swappable’ with HP inks--requiring no line purging—and, chemically a ‘plug-n-play” with HP inks requiring no modifications in color profiles,” Lane continued.

The new LexJet ink for HP 5000/5500 inkjet printers will come packaged in familiar refurbished HP cartridges. LexJet will warrant the ink to be of such quality as to not interfere with any HP warranty covering the HP 5000/5500 printers.
