Inkjet Media Preparation |
Printer manufacturers recommend that you allow your print to dry for a minimum of 24 hours before lamination. In areas with high humidity dry times can be longer. |
Laminator Compatibility |
It's recommended that your laminator be equipped with a release liner take-up reel. All LexJet laminates are provided on 3" standard cores. |
Laminator Settings |
Apply 80-100 psi and use 2-3 feet per minute for dwell time. Between 90° to 120° F heat is recommended, but heat is not required. The top and bottom web tension should be minimal. |
Using a Sled |
It is strongly recommended that you use a rigid sled (1/8" or thicker) such as polycarbonate, acrylic, masonite or aluminum. This will ensure consistent pressure across the web. Apply a release liner to your sled to prevent adhesive build-up. Use strong tape, such as packaging tape, to attach the entire width of the leading edge of the graphic to the sled. |
Adhesive Cure Time |
After applying the laminate, allow curing for a minimum of 2 hours before cutting or trimming. Maximum bond strength is reached in 24 hours. |
Floor Graphics Slip Rating |

70° F (21° C), 50% R.H. (a controlled environment is recommended); store vertically in original packaging. |
Shelf Life |
1 year from the LexJet ship date when stored in proper conditions. |
Tip |
If you are experiencing curl when applying this backer and the tension on your pull rollers is minimal, reduce the heat, reduce the pressure and reduce the speed of your take-up reel. |
Tip |
It is not recommended that you pre-coat any paper-faced products, such as Gator Board or Foam Core, with an adhesive that has a plastic carrier. The absorptive nature of paper products can cause the board to contract and expand with temperature and humidity fluctuations causing the release liner to tunnel. The slip aid, which is often found on PVC materials, should be removed with a suitable detergent. All substrates should be tested for your specific application prior to final job production. |
