Brand: LexJet

LexJet Elite Polycarbonate Laminate 5 Mil with PreLume® technology is a flexible, versatile polycarbonate laminating film. It can be used to economically produce shorter-term durable graphics for pop-up booths or be combined with a LexJet pressure-sensitive adhesive to produce, extra-durable mounted graphics.

This laminating film works particularly well with graphics printed on LexJet’s White DuPont Melinex Polyester Film.

PreLume® is a patented optical reflection technology that offsets yellow and gray color shifts in printable papers and films, enabling you to deliver finished graphics that are visibly whiter and brighter than unlaminated prints or prints protected with conventional graphic-laminating films.

Instead of tweaking printer settings or color profiles and reprinting the graphics, simply apply this film and the colors in your graphics will immediately look better. Plus, PreLume helps extend the life of the printed graphic by keeping it from yellowing over time.

The 2-mil, high-performance acrylic adhesive on LexJet Elite Polycarbonate Laminate 5 Mil helps ensure that the laminating film maintains a strong, permanent bond to the graphic.

LexJet Elite Polycarbonate Laminate 5 Mil was previously known as LexJet 5 Mil PreLume® ExhibitGuard.

Inkjet Media Preparation Printer manufacturers recommend that you allow your print to dry for a minimum of 24 hours before lamination. In areas with high humidity dry times can be longer.
Laminator Compatibility It's recommended that your laminator be equipped with a release liner take-up reel. All LexJet laminates are provided on 3" standard cores.
Laminator Settings Apply 80-100 psi and use 2-3 feet per minute for dwell time. Between 90° to 120° F heat is recommended, but heat is not required. The top and bottom web tension should be minimal.
Using a Sled It is strongly recommended that you use a rigid sled (1/8" or thicker) such as polycarbonate, acrylic, Masonite or aluminum. This will ensure consistent pressure across the web. Apply a release liner to your sled to prevent adhesive build-up. Use strong tape, such as packaging tape, to attach the entire width of the leading edge of the graphic to the sled.
Adhesive Cure Time After applying the laminate, allow curing for a minimum of 2 hours before cutting or trimming. Maximum bond strength is reached in 24 hours.
Floor Graphics Slip Rating Test Method: ASTM D 1894; .40 Kinetic
Min. Application Temp. 50° F (10° C)
Ideal Storage Conditions 70° F (21° C), 50% R.H. (a controlled environment is recommended); store vertically in original packaging.
Shelf Life 1 year from the LexJet ship date when stored in proper conditions.
Tip If you are experiencing curl when applying this backer and the tension on your pull rollers is minimal, reduce the heat, reduce the pressure and reduce the speed of your take-up reel.
Tip It is not recommended that you pre-coat any paper-faced products, such as Gator Board or Foam Core, with an adhesive that has a plastic carrier. The absorptive nature of paper products can cause the board to contract and expand with temperature and humidity fluctuations causing the release liner to tunnel. The slip aid, which is often found on PVC materials, should be removed with a suitable detergent. All substrates should be tested for your specific application prior to final job production.
Tip If you are experiencing curl when applying this backer to LexJet and the tension on your pull rollers is minimal; reduce the heat, reduce the pressure and reduce the speed of your take-up reel
