LexJet's 5.5 Mil Opaque Display Film is a polyester film with a back coating that blocks out light and provides 100% opacity. It is an economical choice for trade show and point-of-purchase graphics that will be mounted on pop-up and retractable display systems.

This water-resistant film produces vibrant colors, doesn’t show fingerprints, and is resistant to scratching and abrasion.

It works well with either pressure-sensitive or heat-activated (thermal) laminating films, but lamination isn’t required if the graphics are for short-term use. An extra-white graphics surface can be achieved when a PreLume® laminating film is applied.

The film is compatible with dye and pigment inks on printers that use thermal or piezo printheads.

Expand International has certified LexJet 5.5 Mil Matte Opaque Display Film for use in their line of retractable and non-retractable displays.

Software Settings The coating on this product is engineered for better than 400% ink coverage. The white film setting in most RIPs is appropriate. However, we recommend a custom ICC profile for optimal results. Please refer to www.lexjet.com for starting-point ICC profiles for some printers.
Light Fastness The fading time of inkjet ink is a direct result of the inks that you choose to use and the environment where the print is displayed. Contact the ink manufacturer for light fastness data.
Finishing/Post Processing It is always recommended that a protective laminate be applied after printing. If using pressure sensitive laminates, LexJet Elite UV, Elite Coex, or Elite Polycarbonate laminates are suggested. Thermal laminates can also be used. The recommended setting for low melt is between 190° - 200° F. Hand applying laminates is not recommended. The print should dry for 24 hours before laminating. When mounting to substrates such as PVC, Acrylic, etc., a standard mounting adhesive is appropriate.
Optimal Print Environment For Printing: 72° F, 50% Relative Humidity; For End Use: -40° F - 176° F (-40° - 80° C)
Handling Recommendations Due to the absorptive nature of the coating, you should avoid touching the coated surface of the film. It is always recommended that cotton gloves be used when handling inkjet coated materials. Rolls of LexJet film are supplied with the coated side facing out.
Ideal Storage Conditions 72° F (21° C), 50% R.H. (a controlled environment is recommended); store vertically in original packaging.
Shelf Life 1 year from the LexJet ship date when stored in proper conditions.
