LexJet Corporation Licenses PreLume™ Technology to Bring Out the Best in Digital Color Images

Thursday, August 21, 2003
The LexJet Corporation has licensed PreLume™, an advanced technology that visually enhances digital color output. Created by UV Light & Magic in Palo Alto, CA, PreLume™ dramatically whitens and brightens digital color images without affecting colors, requiring color tables to be modified, or introducing organic chemical whiteners that can cause ink jet created prints to yellow with age.

The effects of PreLume™ technology are clearly visible. White areas are whiter while the colors, including black, remain true. Yellowness and grayness emanating from films and papers are eliminated. The finished graphic appears cleaner and whiter – a definite plus in today’s demanding imaging market.

“PreLume™ is the first media enhancement of its kind," states John Lane of the LexJet Corporation. “Including PreLume™ into LexJet branded products will immediately enable digital color professionals to output images that are far superior in brightness and whiteness to those images created on ink jet media today. It doesn't require changing printer settings or color profiles. Digital printing professionals need only substitute their current media for a product containing the PreLume™ logo to obtain this dramatic, visual improvement in output. There is nothing else to modify,” Lane adds.

Licensed for use in other non-related technologies, PreLume™ is the only technology commercially available today that virtually eliminates yellowing, graying and other undesired discoloration that can be caused by the various substrates, adhesives or laminate components used in ink jet image output today.

“The first LexJet products to utilize the PreLume™ technology will be those LexJet products designed specifically for tradeshow and point-of-purchase construction,” said Jeff Leto of the LexJet Corporation. “Our signature DisplayFlex and Backers have been extensively field tested with PreLume™ and both products will contain PreLume™ prior to the start of the fall trade show season,” Leto added.

The LexJet Corporation is ranked No. 48 by Deloitte & Touche as one of the fastest growing technology related companies in North America and ranked No. 48 by INC Magazine as one of the 500 fastest growing, privately held companies in America.
