X-Rite Consolidates ProfileMaker5 and MonacoPROFILER Families

X-Rite, Inc. has announced a streamlined, high-end profile-creation portfolio for achieving high-quality color output from any analog or digital-printing technology, including inkjet, laser, offset, and flexographic printing. Two of the three products will be of interest to photographers.

ProfileMaker 5 Platinum is for professional fine-art and commercial studio photographers who want to create and edit the highest quality profiles. This package combines the key features and flexibility of previous editions of ProfileMaker 5 Photostudio and ProfileMaker 5 Publish, plus the Multicolor plug-in for Adobe Photoshop to simplify color separations and proofing.

ProfileMaker5 Platinum includes eight modules, including modules for creating ICC profiles for digital cameras, flatbed and drum scanners, and RGB and CMYK printers.

With the Monitor Module, you can calibrate and create ICC profiles for CRT, LCD and laptop displays and match multiple monitors to a reference monitor.

The MultiColor Output Module allows you to create profiles for printers that feature CMYK channels plus up to six additional channels. You can set ink priorities, minimize ink consumption, and minimize metamerism for two different illuminants.  

MonacoPROFILER Platinum is a flexible, wizard-based solution that provides all of the input and output profiling tools typically needed by commercial and fine-art photographers and graphic arts professionals. MonacoPROFILER supports up to 8 inks and 8 discrete colors, providing the flexibility to color manage wide-gamut, extended-color printers.

These high-end packages can be bundled with i1 solutions or automated chart readers to speed workflow. The automated chart readers can include features such as X-Rite’s Optical Brightening Compensation module, which compensates for color shifts caused by the optical brightening agents used in many papers.
