Environmentally-Friendly Alternatives: Recyclable Tyvek SUV and Bamboo Banner Stand

As part of LexJet’s ongoing effort to provide responsible and dependable products that measurably reduce the wide-format printing industry’s environmental impact, LexJet introduces 3R DuPont Tyvek® SUV, which is compatible with solvent, low-solvent, and UV-curable printers, and the Bamboo dECO Banner Stand.

LexJet 3R DuPont Tyvek SUV, which will begin shipping in early 2009, was specifically developed to provide the industry with a truly sustainable inkjet-printable solution that incorporates the 3Rs: Reduce, Reuse, Recycle. The base Tyvek material adheres to DuPont’s sustainable manufacturing standards (click here and here for more information).

Reduce: LexJet 3R DuPont Tyvek SUV is extremely lightweight and uses 70 percent less material than similar banner materials and is just as durable. Its weight is only 142 g/m2, which reduces environmental impact across the supply chain, from manufacturing to shipping to disposal. As a comparison, the leading “biodegradable” banner material weighs in at 510 g/m2.

Reuse: Compared to typical scrim banner material, LexJet 3R DuPont Tyvek SUV is extremely durable, making it ideal for graphics that can be re-used repeatedly for a variety of trade-show, outdoor signage, and display applications. It also features a nice photographic finish for vivid, eye-catching graphics.

Recycle: LexJet 3R DuPont Tyvek is made of 100-percent recyclable high-density polyethylene (HDPE), which is accepted at most local recycling facilities. As part of the launch of this product in early 2009, LexJet will also provide alternative recycling programs that will ensure the material is recycled and re-used to create other products through the recycling process.
