Track Printing Costs with New Epson Website

GS6000

At the SGIA Show, Epson highlighted some of the uncommonly beautiful graphics that can be produced on the Epson Stylus Pro GS6000 solvent printer.

Visitors to the booth saw a graphics-wrapped Ferrari, backlit prints of images by renowned photographer Douglas Dubler, and prints by self-proclaimed “rock star of the art world” Michael Godard.

Along with the image quality, Epson was promoting some new capabilities, such as the ColorBurst Production RIP included with each printer, the MyEpsonPrinter.com system for tracking ink and paper usage across multiple Epson printers, and Epson-compatible vinyl cutters from Summagraphics.

myEpsonPrinter.com: To help owners of newer-model Epson printers better understand and control printing expenses, Epson America has launched the myEpsonPrinter.com website. Through this site, owners of Epson printers can:

Automatically track consumables usage per printer, regardless of location

Access real-time cost-per-print estimates and print job run information

Create custom reports using actual print-job information

Access technical-support information, including the printer firmware and driver

Receive real-time updates on warranty information

Remotely monitor printers for fleet-wide printer management

Estimate how much a production print, mockup, or proof costs to create

myEpsonPrinter.com

The technology to communicate securely with myEpsonPrinter.com is built into the GS6000, Epson Stylus Pro x880 series printers, and the recently launched Epson Stylus Pro 7900 and Epson Stylus Pro 9900 printers.

The service is currently free during a public beta period that is expected to last through March, 2009.

Following the conclusion of the beta period, Epson may start charging fees for the service.

ColorBurst Production RIP: To maximize productivity, the Epson Stylus Pro GS6000 Production Edition includes ColorBurst RIP software that can be used to efficiently and simultaneously create, process, and print jobs. The RIP provides robust layout functionality, automatic Pantone color matching, 16-bit screening technology, built-in support and profiles for most popular 3M and Avery media types, and a powerful multi-channel ICC color-management system that supports RGB, CMYK, grayscale, and LAB formats.

Summa Companion Cutters: To convert vinyl graphics into labels and cut graphics, the ColorBurst RIP and Epson Stylus Pro GS6000 can be used with three models of Summa cutters: the SummaCut D160-R, Summa S Class S160, and Summa S160 T Series.
