Image Trends has introduced two new cosmetic plug-ins designed to subtly enhance the beauty of people while improving the workflow of professional photographers. PearlyWhites is a Photoshop plug-in that automatically whitens and brightens white areas surrounded by fleshtones, such as teeth and the whites of eyes. ShineOff is a plug-in that automatically removes unwanted shine from a subject’s facial and skin tones without removing the realistic luster of the lips or sparkle of the teeth and eyes.
Dan Sullivan, president and CEO of Image Trends, says both products can help pro photographers improve their workflows. The tools can be combined in an action and operated in batch mode.
They can also be used on individual images captured by amateurs as well as pros. Sullivan notes that “Harsh direct flash lighting adds unwanted shine to the face, and digital cameras tend to yellow teeth, making them appear unnatural. These new cosmetic plug-ins do such a flattering job of beautifying images that their use may become addictive.”
The plugs-ins ($49.95 each) are for Windows systems only. You can download a free trial version from Image Trends' website.
