If you have an image or two you’d like critiqued by a world-class photography pro, check out the new Critique My Image feature on the Icons of Photography website operated by Kingston Technology Inc., a leading producer of memory products.
Participating Icons include photojournalist Harry Benson, advertising photographer Colin Finlay, National Geographic photographer Gerd Ludwig, and Sports Illustrated photographer Peter Read Miller.
Each of the four Icons has critiqued five images. Their comments appear at the top of each page, with numbers referencing the images displayed across the bottom of the page. (You have to scroll down to see the images.)
In his first round of critiques, Gerd Miller demonstrates how each of the images could be improved through certain edits. Enlarge the image onscreen, then scroll across it for a before-and-after view of how Miller’s edits improved the look of each photograph.
“Our Icons love to share their knowledge and experience with other photographers who want to learn to take better pictures,” explains Jaj Lin, Flash marketing manager at Kingston.
“Commenting on these submissions is a great exercise for me personally,” says Benson. “It’s great to be part of a program that encourages interaction and learning among those who share a genuine love of photography.”
