Nik Software has announced Color Efex Pro 3.0, an updated collection of photographic filters for Adobe Photoshop and Photoshop Elements that will be released in December. Color Efex Pro 3.0 integrates Nik’s U Point technology, which makes it easy to apply filters to specific areas of a photo without having to create complicated selections, masks, and layers. Simply place a U-Point-powered Control Point directly on any part of your image and adjust the effect’s opacity level on that part of the image.

Color Efex Pro 3.0 also features a Filter List, including new filters organized by varying types of photography, including studio, portrait, commercial, fine art, and nature. Other enhancements include a resizable window for larger monitors, large before/after previews, a Navigator Loupe, and the ability to save favorite filter sets.

Three versions will be available. The Complete Edition ($299.95) contains more than 250 distinctive effects and more than 50 emulated film types. The Select Edition ($159.95) and Standard Edition ($99.95) include a more limited assortment of choices.
