March is shaping up as a great month to sharpen your skills in digital photography and wide-format printing.
LexJet is sponsoring a number of educational workshops and seminars at the annual Wedding and Portrait Photographers International (WPPI) conference and trade show, the Rockstar Roadtrip with Corey McNabb and Amber Holritz, and EyeSights 2008, the 5th Annual Open Juried Photography Show.
WPPI: At WPPI, which runs March 13-20 at Bally’s/Paris Hotel in Las Vegas, LexJet will sponsor two top-notch educational sessions.
At this year’s Champagne Shootout on Monday, March 17, from 9 to 11 p.m., four different photographers will capture images of models posing individually and as couples for fashion, engagement, and senior portraits.
LexJet (Booth 559) is sponsoring Dan Minor, who will demonstrate his Capturing4Print approach in which Minor shoots with the final print in mind from the start. The images will be displayed live, and LexJet’s technical director, Tom Hauenstein, will output the images using the ImagePrint RIP, LexJet’s award-winning Sunset paper, and an EPSON Stylus Pro printer.
Hauenstein, who is currently wrapping up his nationwide Great Output Seminar Tour, will also present a class on the ImagePrint RIP on Tuesday, March 18 from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. at WPPI. Hauenstein will explain how to use ImagePrint to streamline the production of high-quality photos on inkjet printers, how to save time, paper, and disk space, and how to make extra-large gallery quality prints, borderless prints, prints with creative borders, photo packages, multi-panel murals, and more.
Rockstar Roadtrip: Corey McNabb and Amber Holritz embark on a seven-city East Coast tour showcasing the best of wedding and lifestyle portraiture. Corey and Amber will provide the inside scoop on how to charge what you want and educate your clients to love the style of shooting you love.
Corey will discuss pricing strategies, new ways to look at wedding photography that will differentiate your work, and digital asset management. Amber will focus on lifestyle portraiture, building lasting relationships with your clients, and tips and techniques she uses when shooting.
Sponsored by White Glove First Edition Books and LexJet, the pre-registration price is $175 and $215 at the door. Lunch and giveaways will be provided, and “groupies” (previous attendees of Corey’s or Amber’s lectures or seminars, upon their approval) receive 10 percent off.
Dates and locations are March 24 in Orlando, March 26 in Atlanta, March 28 in Raleigh, N.C., March 31 in Washington, D.C., April 2 in New York City, April 4 in Boston, and April 7 in Chicago. For more information, contact Corey McNabb at 877-254-4954 or click here to go to his website.
