As the use of pro-model inkjet printers for fine-art reproduction continues to grow, Hahnemühle FineArt has announced wider-format rolls of art papers that can be used for faster production of higher volumes of prints on 60- and 64-in-wide inkjet printers.
Hahnemühle has also redesigned the Certificate of Authenticity and Hologram System that many fine-art printmakers use to guarantee the genuineness of their limited-edition prints and reduce the risk of forgery.
This month, Hahnemühle will begin offering FineArt Baryta and FineArt Pearl papers in 60-in. wide rolls. The company plans to make other products in the FineArt collection available in 60 in. widths in the coming months and will introduce 64-in. wide rolls this fall.
The Certificate of Authenticity and Hologram System combines customizable, A4-size certificates with sets of matching, numbered hologram stickers. First, you decide how you want the certificate to look and read. (You can download a template from Hahnemühle’s website for inspiration.) Then, you print your information onto the certificates, which are made of premium deckle-edged mould-made paper with a Hahnemühle watermark and fluorescent security fibers.
After the certificate has been printed, you apply one of the sequentially numbered holograms to the certificate. You then affix the hologram with the matching number to the reverse side of your art print. The combination of the certificate and the hologram assures that each Certificate of Authenticity relates to a particular piece of art. The certificates are sold in boxes with 25 certificates and 50 holograms.
