Go to Print under the File drop-down in Illustrator.
To make sure Illustrator recognizes the borderless command you will give to the driver, you need to set the size to Defined by Driver, which is found in the Media field.
Next, you'll need to get to the Canon driver by clicking the Setup button below the image preview.
Navigate to the driver by highlighting the Canon printer, and then choose Preferences.
On the Page Setup tab, choose Borderless Printing. A new window will appear. Also, note that I have Landscape chosen in the Orientation field so that I can rotate the image 90 degrees. If I left the selection as Portrait the image would still be printed borderless, but the wrong way. Bummer!
From here, just choose the roll width you have loaded in the printer.
Now choose the correct settings for the media you are printing to.
If you are using a custom profile, choose the Color Settings button and make sure to turn the Canon's color management off.
Proceed by choosing OK on the Color Settings and Printing Preferences windows, and then click Print on the Print window to get back to your Illustrator settings.
Back in Illustrator, choose Fit to Page in the Options field. This will fit the image to the borderless mode selected in the Canon driver.
If you are using a customer printer profile, under the Color Management section choose Let Illustrator determine colors for Color Handling in the Print Method field. Then, find your custom profile in the Printer Profile drop-down. Now you should be ready to hit Print and go borderless.
