Hahnemuhle FineArt has announced plans to introduce a new inkjet paper this spring made largely from sugar cane fibers. Scheduled to be available this spring, Hahnemuhle Sugar Cane 300gsm is made from 75% sugar cane (bagasse) fiber and 25% recycled cotton fibers.
Bagasse fiber, a byproduct of sugar cane processing, is considered by many environmental organizations to be an eco-friendly resource. Sugar Cane 300gsm will be a natural white, textured fine art paper that is OBA-free and resistant to aging. The inkjet coating is designed to produce prints with rich contrast and detail. The paper is recommended for printing warm-tone color and monochrome photographs as well as fine-art reproductions.
Hahnemuhle will donate a percentage of each sale of Sugar Cane 300gsm paper toward worthy international environmental projects. Once available, Sugar Cane 300gsm will join environmentally-friendly Bamboo 290 g as part of the full line of fine-art and photographic papers from Hahnemuhle available at LexJet.
