Markzware’s new plug-in for Adobe InDesign provides a way to convert documents created into Microsoft Publisher (versions 2002 to 2007) into Adobe InDesign CS2 or CS3 documents.
If your shop has switched to InDesign, the new conversion plug-in can save considerable time in creating and repurposing content or standardizing archived files.
Although most text, images, and fonts of the Publisher document can be converted with a single click, Markzware recommends proofing all converted documents before output. The text flow or certain graphic elements in each file will probably require at least some rework, depending on how many special effects or how much custom kerning, tracking, and leading was used when the document was created.
The Publisher to InDesign software (PUB2ID) lists for $199 and is available for PCs and Macs. It can be downloaded from the Markzware website.
