HP has signed an agreement to acquire NUR Macroprinters Ltd for $117.5 million. NUR’s UV-curable and solvent inkjet printers will be integrated into the line of digital presses and wide-format printers that HP’s Imaging and Printing Group offers for graphic-arts production.
Vyomesh Joshi, executive vice president of HP’s Imaging and Printing Group, called the acquisition another milestone in HP’s Print 2.0 growth strategy to ignite the transition from converting analog pages to digital pages. He said, “The large-format print-service-provider market is growing rapidly, and with the acquisition of NUR, HP is strategically building an even stronger portfolio of products and will continue to drive innovation and growth with our industrial wide-format printers.”
The NUR deal follows HP’s acquisition of MacDermid ColorSpan in September 2007 and Scitex Vision in August 2005.
