WhatTheyThink, the news and information site for the graphic communications industry, has announced the availability of Pricing Wide-Format Output, a nine-page report prepared by InfoTrends. According to InfoTrends, the U.S. wide-format printing market was estimated to be worth more than $10.2 billion in 2008.
The report advises business owners to research their local markets as much as possible and consider using a cost-per-piece approach that takes into account additional services such as finishing since charging for these services as add-on costs can be frustrating to print buyers and leave potential profit on the table for the print shop that just gives a square foot price.
The report includes two figures and five tables. One figure shows a range of selling prices per square foot for different wide-format print media in 2007; the other figure lists regularly produced applications. The five tables provide benchmark pricing for banners, window graphics, point-of-purchase graphics, billboards, and textiles.
The report also includes information on market dynamics affecting the pricing of these services, as well as candid comments from some of the print-service providers interviewed for the report. The report is priced at $198 and is available at the WhatTheyThink store.
