Perspectives on Wide-Format Opportunities and Growth at Graphics of the Americas
Will your business be ready to grow when the economy turns around? One way to make sure is to listen to experts who can expand your perspective of the printing industry as a whole and help you identify new challenges and opportunities. At the Graphics of Americas 2009 Conference and Show Feb. 26-28 in Miami Beach, RIT Professor Emeritus Frank Romano will present two sessions that can help you anticipate what’s next.

Trend Vision: The Future of Print: Romano predicts what the printing industry might look like ten years from now. He will analyze which print markets are likely to be the hottest and which ones will lag behind. For example, he will compare the future of point-of-purchase and signage to that of newspapers, magazines, catalogs, advertising collateral, direct mail, books, security printing, transactional print, office stationery, directories, commercial print, packaging, labels, and folding cartons. The goal is to help owners of printing companies think about how they might want to reposition their businesses.

Future Issues & Opportunities in Inkjet Printing: Romano, who has written a book on Inkjet History, Technology, Markets and Applications, will discuss trends in inks and printheads and nine categories of low-end, mid-range, and high-end sheet, roll, and flatbed inkjet printers. He will discuss markets for inkjet printing and explain why inkjet is likely to usurp volume from screen printing, offset litho, and toner-based presses.

For details on the times and dates of these and other sessions, visit the Graphics of the Americas website.
