Mutoh America Will Conduct Hands-On School of Wrap June 16-18

In order to gain a competitive edge in growing market for vehicle wraps, your shop needs people who are well-trained in designing and installing wraps. To address this need, Mutoh America is conducting a three-day Hands-on School of Wrap, June 16-18 at Mutoh America Headquarters in Phoenix.

On the first day, Todd LaBrie, owner of Carwraps, will discuss how to use Adobe Illustrator to efficiently and profitably design and produce wraps. He will explain how to work with templates, set up files and place images, and provide tips for RIPs, printing, and lamination.

Installation training will get underway on the second day. Instructor Patrick Buckley of Direct Effects Graphics will start by discussing different grades of wrap materials and the tools and equipment needed to complete the installation. He’ll talk about how to prep the vehicle, unpack the printed decals, remove hardware, and handle a squeegee. Buckley will also talk about the pros and cons of using heat guns and torches and various methods of installing and cutting panels.

Attendees will get hands-on training in positioning graphic, panel installation, and cutting and learn how to troubleshoot unforeseen problems. The seminar fee of $995 includes the book Vehicle Wrap 101 by Todd LaBrie, the Realwraps 101 DVD and Realwraps Speedwrap DVD, 3M practice vinyl, a 3M Gold squeegee with sleeve, and a 551P NT knife/cartridge cutter.
