Since the buy one/give one program was introduced last spring, Picture It On Canvas has donated prints to a variety of organizations, including an adoption agency, an organization that feeds the hungry and the homeless, and Operation Love: Reunited, a foundation through which 800 volunteer photographers provide free photography sessions to military families before or after deployment overseas.
"We've completely changed our business model," explains Bob McKeon, President of Picture It On Canvas. Instead of setting aside a small amount for corporarte philanthropy, he says, “We've cut back on our advertising and marketing programs and trimmed our expenses. We are embracing the conscious capitalism business model in use by Tom's Shoes and other companies." Tom's Shoes donates one pair of shoes to people in poor parts of the world for every pair it sells.
McKeon stresses that Picture It On Canvas remains steadfastly committed to quality: “We've worked hard to gain a reputation for a high-quality product with spot-on colors and outrageous customer service along with an iron-clad guarantee. That will remain in that new business model."
Picture It On Canvas sells prints in 19 different sizes, stretched on either thinner bars (for framing) or thicker bars so that the print can be hung on the wall without a frame. All prints receive a protective coating that increases their resistance to light fading and water.
A variety of custom treatments are available, including the addition of text, vignetting, colorization, sepia toning, or oil-painting-like effects. A single print can be also be split and printed as three separate canvas panels. Backplates can be attached to the back of the print, featuring the studio’s name and logo or information about the print itself.
The program is scheduled to end December 31, 2009 but may be extended or modified after that date. For more details on the buy one/give one program, visit the Picture It On Canvas website: www.pictureitoncanvas.com
